The module is designed for a detailed analysis of petrophysical parameters of formations – porosity, composition, saturation etc. The analysis is carried out by solving sets of equations the components of which are measured or calculated parameters of a formation (rock density, hydrogen content, propagation time of elastic waves etc.). Solving a set of equations is performed by the MSolve function on the basis of the PRIME integrated script language.
The program is designed both for continuous depth data (e.g. log curves) and interval depth data (tables of core, saturation, lithology, stratigraphy etc.).
Assessment and management of calculation reliability
Using standard MSolve function variables the user assigns solution search criteria including a maximum number of iterations, relative accuracy of calculations, a variation range of a system’s parameters etc.
Quality control of found results
While solving a set of equations, theoretical values of the system’s input parameters are calculated apart from just sought-for parameters. Comparison of the theoretical values with the actual well survey data allows you to ensure the reliability of the calculations made.
Complex interpretation of well survey data
More physically related parameters (more well survey techniques) can be involved in the calculation of the module than in a standard interpretation. The accuracy of calculations is now significantly ensured.
